Why we’re building Prec

Most people don’t forget things because they’re disorganized. They forget because they’re busy. Here’s the small problem Prec is built to solve.

Think about the last time you got to work without your badge, or to the gym without your headphones. It wasn’t a disaster. But it cost you a trip back home, an awkward moment at the front desk, or a worse workout, and it chipped away a little at the feeling that you have things under control.

Most people who forget things aren’t disorganized. They’re running at capacity, and by the time they walk out the door their mind is already somewhere else.

The tools we have weren’t built for this

Reminders and to-do apps treat every item as a task: you complete it and it disappears. Packing apps are built for the once-a-year suitcase, not the bag you pack every weekday. Neither is designed for preparation you repeat.

What Prec does

  • Scenes, not lists. You set up Work, Gym, Swim or Weekend Trip once, starting from a preset if you like.
  • Check, then reset. Tick items off as you pack, then tap “Ready for Next Time.” The list is fresh for tomorrow.
  • Learns quietly. Prec notices what you always bring and suggests small changes, and it can draft a new list from a short description. All of it happens on your device, and it never changes a list without asking.
  • Private by default. Your lists live on your device, with optional iCloud sync. No account, no analytics.

Prec is available now for iPhone and iPad. Download it on the App Store, and if you have feedback, email info@pixelbluellc.com. We read every message.
